***SOLD*** ***SOLD*** ***SOLD***

THIS CABOOSE HAS BEEN SOLD AS OF SUNDAY FEB 12TH. Thank you for your interest.

Unfortunately my life has changed in a way that I'm now offering up my Caboose for sale.

I bought my caboose in 2006, an International Car Company caboose built in Dec 1969, N&W C-31 number 518609.

I've been rebuilding and restoring this caboose on and off as time and money allowed since then. Over time since 2006 I've performed or paid for services on the following for my caboose:

-Caboose was completely media blasted on the outside then primed with PPG two part Epoxy pit-guard industrial primer, at a cost of $2000.

-Caboose was top coated with PPG two part Epoxy pitthane in appropriate colors. Blue, Yellow & Aluminum. Black has not been completed yet on ends and Underbody. Red safety stripes on Yellow ends has yet to be applied as well, at a cost of an additional $2000 up till now.

-lettering was done the correct way and painted on (NOT VINYL LETTERING) I paid $1000 dollars alone for the stencil set to cover the yellow lettering coat while the top blue coat was applied to get the proper crisp hot yellow that was desired. Proper stacking of paint was required with this style of lettering.

-I've ordered and replaced all 22 of the windows with FRA 223 glazing keeping the caboose FRA compliant, at a cost of $3500.

-Car is active in Umler and has AEI tags applied for operation on US Rail network.

-Car is inspected and in date with proper brake inspections performed as required.

-Replaced one of the draft gears with correct replacement from a sister caboose, due to missing parts when bought. Repair is as built good!

-Replaced both end doors with same style but newer more solid doors acquired from the Railroad.

-Bought all new valves for Propane Tank mounted under caboose for use with "yet to be acquired propane fired Gen-set".

-Had the caboose shopped at local Locomotive shop and had all four axles/wheel sets turned to correct sharp and thin flanges all wheels have very thick treads and have perfect profiles now at a cost of $500 an axle ($2000 for the caboose total).

-All roof walks and platform walks have been media blasted off the caboose and painted in appropriate colors and reinstalled with stainless hardware.

-All steps have been rebuilt using original and proper step material from other sister cabooses to be correct.

-Caboose interior has been cleaned out and ready for owners own plan. Original water tank and mountings are included, as well as all interior window trim.

Please contact me for more images if interested, I've taken hundreds over it's rebuild process.

-Buyer will also get with purchase the original axle driven generator that came off the caboose as well as spare windows and hardware...and more.

-An N&W Steam era coal stove and other caboose related items are available for purchase if new buyer would like them for this caboose.

Asking $19K for Caboose, ready to roll today, on active track. I've got more in this caboose than I'm asking so this is your chance for a solid road worthy caboose that's ready for your interior to make it your own.

Open to offers, (Example if caboose is intended to leave live rail I can provide a "worn" but good set of trucks that would look identical to the rebuilt set presently under the caboose for over all reduced price $17K)

We have local heavy Hauler able to truck caboose if needed locally. Otherwise Caboose is ready for interchange and ready to move over rail network for delivery if sold today.

Thank you for reading and looking.

Steve
