Check with seller Winton 5" Scale 2' Gauge 2-6-0 & Train Big Spring, TX
- Location: Big Spring, TX, United States
I am representing the owner of this item. This is a classic example of a rare Winton locomotive and train. Built in the 1970s, this train is one of a kind. It was originally a live steam train, but previous owner later spent $30,000 converting the train to diesel-hydraulic. It is still convertible back to steam. Only major damage to the steam portion of the locomotive is a cutting into the firebox to run a chain to the drivers. Cut away the firebox and convert it back to steam! Three of the coaches have been refurbished with wood, and the caboose has been started. A few of the cars need work, and will need wheels. Otherwise, this is a complete train set. Owner has ideas and patterns to convert the gondola cars to have fiberglass onnings placed on them. It is recommended that this train run on at least 20 lb rail for smooth, safe operation. This train originally cost $250,000.
